While there may be a few “classic” cuts, most hairstyles wane with the calendar.  To keep your look current, there are several factors to consider.  Aside from your hair type, your age, and the shape of your face, you must also decide whether you prefer a high- or low-maintenance style.   If you don’t have an hour to spend styling your hair in the morning, an easy “do” is the way to go!

Geometric shapes, harsh cuts, and dark colors are fun ways for the young adult to express personality.  One must also consider where a hairstyle will be worn when experimenting with a variety of styles and colors.  Working at a law office will demand a very different look than a chic retail clothing store.

Women in their 30’s and 40’s don’t have to be stuck with a typical “mommy” style, but easy manageability is probably a high priority.  A medium length with layers or sexy waves and a complimentary color are simple ways to have a fun look that’s easy to maintain.  You can even opt for a cute pixie cut depending upon the shape of your face!

As one matures, there are still several different style options from which to choose.  Layers are flattering in any length hair, but stay away from flat, severe styles that can make you look older.
